The Striders are... a group of runners representing Lunenburg and Queens County in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Lunenburg World Heritage Site 5 Kilometer Road Race and Muffin Festival - Provincial Championships

The 2008 Lunenburg World Heritage Site 5K Road Race and Muffin Festival will take place Sunday, June 8, 2008. This year the Lunenburg 5K is also the Run Nova Scotia 5K Road Race Championships! Also note that this years race is a Run Nova Scotia points race, the "Go Active RNS Running Series Event #4" and "Timex Event #2".

Spartan 5K on April 6, 2008

The Spartan 5 Kilometer Race at the North Queens Rural High School in Caledonia, Nova Scotia on April 6, 2008 was won by Terry Morris. Karen Towes won the womens race.

Other Local Races Osprey 5K, Field of Dreams 5K and Privateer Days 5 Mile

On Sunday May 4, 2008 is the Field of Dreams 5K Run and Walk in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Then on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10 a.m. is the Osprey 5K Run and Walk at the Riverport Elementary School. Contact Tania Strowbridge Phone: (902) 766-2400

Cabot Trail 2004

The Over the Hill Gang, the running team for the Bluenose Striders, competed once again in the Cabot Trail Relay! They have competed in every Cabot Trail Relay Race since its inception. In 2003, we won the Master Runners title with every runner over 40 years old. Read more about that here. In 2004 we lost the title to a team from Ontario despite a better showing in the overall standings. More on that here.

The 43rd Bert Corkum Memorial 5 Mile Road Race took place on a rainy Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Lunenburg. It was still a great success. You'll find the race results here. You can also look at the map here too.
