The Bert Corkum Memorial 5 Mile Road Race is held as an event in the Nova Scotia Fisheries Exhibition, also known as the Lunenburg Fisheries Reunion and Picnic in Lunenburg. The race is hosted by the Bluenose Striders. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Lunenburg High School, Lunenburg and is a single loop course with two hills near the end. Please arrive early for registration. There will be one water stop on the course.
The event is low key and informal. The entry fee is $5.00, with registration on the race day. But there are prizes for the overall winners and age groups winners. There will be showers and refreshments for all after the race at the Lunenburg High School.
